Core formulas

Profit % is on CP. Discount % is on MP
SP = CP × (1 + p/100) = MP × (1 − d/100)
Two discounts d₁, d₂ = one discount of d₁ + d₂ − d₁d₂/100
Same SP, one at +x%, one at −x% ⇒ net loss of x²/100 %

60-second shortcut · Mark-up in one division

MP/CP = (1 + p/100) ÷ (1 − d/100). 20% profit after a 25% discount? 1.2 ÷ 0.75 = 1.6: mark up 60%.
