How to take the free mock

  1. 1

Pick CAT 2024 Slot 1 or Slot 2 below, or any other paper on the mock page. The mock opens with its instructions; no account is needed to start.

  2. 2

What the mock screen has

  • 40-minute timer per section, VARC then DILR then QA; a section locks when its time ends
  • Five-state question palette: not visited, not answered, answered, marked for review, answered and marked
  • Answers count only once saved with Save & Next or Mark for Review & Next, as on the exam
  • On-screen calculator and the TITA keypad, as on the exam screen
  • +3 / −1 marking on MCQs, no negative marks on TITA questions

Who it is for

  • Anyone preparing for CAT who wants a baseline score on a real paper before planning the rest of their prep.
  • Aspirants who want to practise section timing and the exam screen before the official IIM mock opens.
  • Anyone comparing free CAT mocks: the table below sets ThinkCAT against the official mock and two coaching mocks.

What are the free ThinkCAT mocks?

ThinkCAT's free CAT mocks are real past papers, not invented tests: all 19 complete CAT papers from 2018 to 2025, each in a TCS iON-style interface with a 40-minute timer per section in the VARC, DILR, QA order, the five-state question palette, the on-screen calculator, the TITA keypad and +3/−1 marking (no negative marks on TITA questions). All 19 are free, and you can start without an account; a free sign-in submits the mock. Solutions are step-by-step text; there are no video solutions yet. The official IIM mock opens on iimcat.ac.in with the admit card (12 November in 2025) and needs a CAT login.

Free CAT mock FAQs

Is the ThinkCAT CAT mock test really free?

Yes. All 19 complete CAT papers from 2018 to 2025 run as full mocks for free, and you can start without an account. Sign in with a free account to submit the mock and see your scorecard. The CAT Pro Pass adds sectional sprints and practice drills; you don't need it for the mocks.

Are the free mocks real CAT papers?

Yes. They are the actual papers: 2018 Slot 1, 2019 Slot 1, 2020 Slots 1 and 2, and all three slots of 2021 to 2025, each with its answer key and step-by-step written solutions. The CAT 2024 papers have 68 questions each (24 VARC, 22 DILR, 22 QA), 20 of them TITA. There are no video solutions yet.

How close is the mock to the real CAT interface?

It runs in a TCS iON-style screen: 40 minutes per section in the VARC, DILR, QA order, sections that lock when their time ends, the five-state question palette, the on-screen calculator and the TITA keypad. As on the CAT, an answer counts only once you save it with Save & Next or Mark for Review & Next. Marking is +3 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong MCQ, with no negative marks on TITA questions.

What do I see after I submit?

Your score, accuracy, a section-wise breakdown and an estimated percentile based on past score-to-percentile data, plus the solutions to review question by question.

Are there free SNAP and NMAT mocks too?

SNAP: a 60-question, 60-minute speed mock (+1 / −0.25, switch sections any time). NMAT: a 108-question, 120-minute full-length timed practice (no negative marking, estimated scaled score).
